I just finished Money Heist, which is probably the most suspenseful TV series that I've ever seen. Also, really heart-rending. The writers did a fantastic job slowly building the characters into ones the audience cares about and made them complicated, multi-faceted people without drowning us in boring backstory or tedious exposition.
